Price: $137

In terms of design, Mstar S700 looks a little bit as other Chinese smartphones like the LeTV One, or the Elephone P7000, and this isn’t bad at all. We get a metallic frame around its body, volume rockers and power/unlock buttons on the left side, a front-facing panel with slim bezels and also a removable back cover that offers acces to battery very easy.
The first impression about this device is great, mostly because of its price, quality display and the AnTuTu score that will be revealed next in this article. In the next couple of days we’re going to test Mstar S700, and see if the $185 price tag is right for it. Also, we’re going to test its camera, display, processor and battery, features that on the paper are pretty great.

We must add that is the first time we’re testing a Mstar device, and that we’re anxious to see how its products perform in our tests. Getting to specs, you must know that Mstar S700 comes with a 5.5 inch IPS OGS display (1280 x 720 pixels), an octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, a Mali-T760 GPU and 2 GB of RAM memory.

There’s 16 GB space of internal storage, microSD card slot up to 32 GB, a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity. Next we have a 3.000 mAh battery, dual-SIM support (Mini-SIM + Micro-SIM) and 4G LTE connectivity. We must mention that this device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Another great feature of this device if the fingerprint scanner placed on the back below the camera. This sensor offers a 508 DPI accuracy and according to the producer, the rate of failure identification is 1 to a 5000. From the settings menu we can set up to 5 fingerprint copies. The average time of fingerprint identification is around 1 second.
Mstar S700 AnTuTu
For  the moment, we have tested this device in AnTuTu, a benchmark that offered some suprises. As you can see above, Mstar S700 scored 45.601 points, a number even higher that last’s year flagships like OnePlus One, HTC One M8, or Samsung Galaxy S5. This is pretty awesome taking in consideration that S700 costs just $185.
In the next couple of days we’re going to work on a video unboxing of this device, and later on a full review with our final impressions about it.
As a special offer, gearbest.com sent us a promotional code – S700 -, code that once introduced at checkout will let you buy the phone for just $137. This means almost a $50 price cut that definitely sounds very attractive. What do you think about Mstar S700 and this price tag?
